In late 1950 rural Alabama, Lewellen couple lives with his grandmother stern religious grammi, but spends most of his time with his so adored, wild and rough Daddy in his hut fall. During impersonation, wood Boy attacks Lewellen and leaves behind his innocence. Lewellen descent into the cycle of abuse and their own quest for self-destruction begins.
