An American Affair

Thirteen-year-old Adam Stafford (Bright) has his own problems to deal with. Assassination of a High School President

There’s something rotten at St. Donovan’s High and sophomore newspaper reporter Bobby Funke (Reece Thompson) is on it. When senior hottie Francesca Facchini (Mischa Barton) solicits Funke’s help tracking down a set of stolen SATs, Funke uncovers a story dirtier than the lunch lady’s moustache. After he fingers the school president (figuratively) for the crime, Funke becomes one of the most popular kids at St. Donovan's High.

No longer known simply as the freshman who was once tied to a giant snowman penis, Funke wins the respect of everyone from the Desert-Storm-hero-turned-educator Principal Kirkpatrick (Bruce Willis) to the kid that farts on him in Spanish class. When Francesca takes Funke to homecoming, even the in-school suspension delinquents turn nice and offer guidance on how to keep his boner in check during slow dances. But high school’s not always what it seems. Determined to find the truth, Funke digs deeper and unearths the sordid underbelly of St. Donovan’s.

Nicholas D'Agosto and Eric Christian Olsen headline this teen comedy concerning two high-school football players who attempt to avoid another summer at football camp by becoming cheerleaders.

Out on the gridiron, Gerald R. Ford High School students Shawn Colfax (D'Agosto) and Nick Brady (Olsen) are star players. But summer is drawing near, and this year neither Shawn nor Nick can stomach the prospect of spending their sun-soaked months lunging at tackling dummies and getting berated by their coach.

Fortunately, Nick has a brilliant solution to their current dilemma: sign up for cheerleading camp and spend the summer surrounded by gorgeous women. But head cheerleader Carly (Sarah Roemer) can see right through them, and when Shawn falls head over heels for her, their genius plan hits an unexpected hitch.

Under the Sea 3D

Under the Sea was the first collaborative filmic effort of the Williamson brothers, Earnest and George, pioneers in the art of underwater cinematography. Utilizing a transparent diving chamber and a specially designed, water-tight camera, the Williamsons were able to produce images of unprecedented clarity and sharpness.

This two-reel production was a filmed record of a submarine expedition, financed and undertaken by Earnest and George's father, Captain Charles Williamson. For its initial New York showing, Under the Sea was accompanied by a live lecture, delivered by Captain Williamson himself. The technical advances promoted by the Williamson brothers would be exhibited to even greater advantage in Universal's 1916 adaptation of Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
